1994 14.2H White Leopard Appaloosa Mare

Sugar is available for adoption to a forever home.  Her 30 y/o owner passed away suddenly in August 2011 and a good home is needed.  She is currently stabled in Remlap at Skyline Farms; the barn owner can be reached at 205-681-3471 (ask for Kim).  She *could* be appropriate possibly as a walk-trot horse; she is breeding sound and pasture sound; she is being offered as a broodmare.  She *may* have a bone spur in her left hind.  Vet checks are welcome.  If she didn't work out in her new home she could come back to Skyline Farm at any time - this will be a part of any paper contract that is signed.  She is current on all vetting and farrier work; is kept barefoot and maintains very well on pasture in a herd environment.  Please, no resale type homes.  Seeking only pasture-mate, broodmare type homes only where she will be maintained in good, healthy shape.  She is registered with ApHC.

2000 gray Missouri Foxtrotter gelding

Per the owner:

Deacon is 15 hands (maybe more but I am a poor guesser), grey, and absolutely lovely. He has no known vices and I have placed children on him to lead around. I am an intermediate level rider (and over 50) and had no problems with him. My beginner husband rode him and only had issues when the husband wasn't paying attention - ie: talking on cell phone. The horse can be a big baby and is very affectionate. He loads well in a stock tailer but detests my 2-horse bumper hitch -suspect he feels that he will not fit. He is a big-feeling, compact, but large horse.

Why am I seeking a new home for him?

1. I purchased him for my husband who has failed to find time to ride/work the horse

2. I live on the gulf-coast -I have TOO much lush pasture and this horse gets sore feet every spring on 10 acres of endless grazing. I have placed him in a small paddock area for most of the summer/fall and he is sound -but he cannot tolerate this environment.

3. I have an Arab for my personal horse and prefer a smaller mount for myself.

I want him (Deacon) to have a nice, safe home where he can be cared for without the risk of laminitis every spring and he can be ridden and enjoyed as he should.

2006 Gaited cross gelding

This is Snickers, a heinz-57 of pony spunk and possible gaitedness!  Comfiest canter ever!  Very tolerant of gymkhana movements, right-sided mounting, bareback, etc...  He was very gentle with the 8yo in the video and you could see him reading her very carefully not to go too fast, being it was hot and he was sweaty- If she started sliding he stopped.  He does have the little man syndrome in a mixed herd but doesnt get ugly.. he is a people horse!  If you are petting another horse he will literally come between you to get petted like a dog.   He would make a great horse for a teenager or small adult. He goes anywhere asked and is not spooky.  14hh, stabled with Willow Run.
